Earth Day Seed Bombs Recipe:
• Food processor or blender
• 3-4 seed packets (I used a variety of seeds leftover from planting)
• 3 bowls
• Green, blue, and white construction paper
• Scissors
• Parchment paper
Cut up the construction paper into 1 inch squares and sort into 3 bowls by color. Add water to the bowls and let sit for about 20 minutes. Blend each color in the food processor. It worked better to keep the water with the construction paper when blending. Squeeze excess water from the blended paper. Add seeds into each color and mix well. Create your Earth! Grab some blue, green, and white and smush it together. Place your Earth on parchment paper to dry and then plant any time!

Extension Activities:
•Draw a picture of how you are feeling (use the book for ideas if needed) and discuss why you are feeling that way today with a grown up or older sibling. Allow your child to express themselves honestly and discover where that feeling is coming from.
• With construction paper, recreate the heart on the cover of the book. On each new colored heart, write something that makes you joyful. This is great for understanding sizes as you layer hearts and discussing ways that you can choose joy even on harder days.
• Brainstorm ideas to spread joy to those around you: your family, your neighbors, and / or your friends you can't see right now.

Extension Activities:
• Go for a walk and lift rocks to discover what animals live there. Bring a journal with you to draw what you see.
• Talk about your community. Who is in your family? The bugs all do something special for our Earth, what does each person in your family do that helps your family? Explore ways that you could help your family while you are all home together.
• Think deeper: How can you spread joy to your neighbors in your community?
